McDs Loughrea Darkness Into Light Fundraiser
Donation protected
With the Darkness Into Light Walk postponed in Loughrea and nationally, we had to think outside the box for our annual contribution. Normally we raised money annually through our cafe which is also closed due to Covid-19 so we had to think outside the box and need your help to raise funds for Pieta House for Preventing Suicide and Self Harm.
All we ask is for a similar donation to our "Virtual" Cafe. You can donate
Cup of Coffee €2
Bowl of Soup €5
Breakfast €10
Registration Fee For Next Walk €25
As everybody gets a receipt , once McD's Cafe reopens, the receipt will be valid to redeem a coffee/Soup/Breakfast if you wish.
Better yet we hope this campaign can reach everybody nationally and internationally to help us raise vitally needed funds for Pieta House.
McDs will make the first contribution of €500 to kick things off and will encourage other businesses to help out. Please donate what you can for a very worthy cause.
What's the Irish Coffee Part?
After you donate, we encourage everybody to go to our facebook page and post their pictures of their Irish coffees. The competition is a simple one , who can post the best looking "Irish Coffee". Will it be Donegal/Glasgow/New York or good old Loughrea. Watch the video and see the prizes we have put up. An Irish Coffee will never taste as good.
What is Pieta House?
Last year 8,048 people came through their doors for suicide, self-harm, and bereaved by suicide services and they have reached over 59,529 people since their doors first opened in 2006. In 2019 alone, there were 13,705 phone calls answered and 31,139 text messages replied to via their 24 hour helpline services. Without Darkness Into Light they are asking the public for support to ensure their services can be sustained during this difficult time.
