Running 100 Miles each in 24 hours!
Rohin, George and Joe have set the monstrous task of each, entering and running a 100 mile ultra marathon on the 21st of September in Nottingham! Most people we have spoken to, hint we have lost our minds. We wanted to set a huge goal requiring strenuous levels of preparation to raise as much money as possible for Action Against Hunger.
The idea came about when me and George travelled to Bali last summer, seeing first-hand the conditions some people lived in. We were both into fitness at this point and made a pact that as some point, we would come together to attempt a HUGE personal task for charity as we figured whatever we decided would be a small challenge for us to endure, in comparison to the many challenges people face globally day to day.
You might now ask the question: “How did this come about?”
Rohin: ‘George, tell me if I’ve lost the plot, I want to do something crazy for charity, like a huge run or something maybe 100 miles… what do you think?’
George: ‘Do you want a teammate?’
Weirdly George was even more excited to get this crazy task underway, and after informing his Dad, it was clear it ran in the family.
It is safe to say our running abilities aren’t that of David Goggins, but we are locked into making this happen and we are willing to give everything we have to complete this run. Six months into training, about half way, it's safe to say its been incredibly tough, physically and mentally. We have ran around 700 miles each across the last 6 months and this is likely to double over the next 5. The task at hand has required our absolute dedication and despite some rocky points we're still on track to make this happen this Summer. Your support would go a long way in helping us push on through this last stretch and we would appreciate any donation massively.
A bit about the charity:
Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organisation that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. In 2016, Action Against Hunger's global network helped over 14 million people in over 50 countries worldwide, saving the lives of malnourished children and providing communities with sustainable access to safe water and good nutrition. Any donation at all, would go a long way for those who are less fortunate than we are.
