Muhammad Choudhury’s heart surgery and recovery

Donation protected
Hello everyone.
I, Muhammad Choudhury (Taufiq) had an acute heart attack on June 29th, 2019 around 1PM while at work.
However, l did not know l was having a heart attack because it felt as if I was having slight heart burn/indigestion/gas/bloating as it was about an hour after I had lunch. The pain was not severe, so not paying much mind to it I continued to work and finished my work day around 6PM. My son Saajid (16yo) was at work with me that day to help me as he mostly does when I work Saturday’s. I told him that I was having some pain that felt like gas/bloating pains. After work we left and picked up some dinner on the way home. Called my daughter (Fatima - 14yo) and son (Rashiq - 20yo) and told them we were on the way home and get the table ready for dinner so we could all eat together. Also told Fatima to get my other two children Tawhid (10yo boy) and Maryam (8yo girl) to help clean up the table and themselves.
After dinner, I noticed that my pain was still the same as when it started and didn’t change. I didn’t pay much attention to it and decided to call it an early night and went to bed around 10PM as I was feeling very tired.
I woke up the next morning at 4AM and noticed that the pain was still there and did not improve or increase. So I went about my morning rituals after getting out of bed and came downstairs around 6AM. I had some errands to run so I got an early start,  ran my errands and got back home around 10AM. I got all 5 of my children to get ready because I told them we will go to Costco to get groceries as I will cook dinner for them since it was a while since I’ve cooked a nice home cooked meal.
We all went to Costco around 12noon and was there till about 1PM. However, when we got in line to pay for the groceries is when my pain started to increase and I could clearly tell it was from my chest towards the left side. I told Fatima and she said I should call the doctor. I told her I will when we get home. However, from the time we paid for the groceries and got back to the car the pain had propagated to my upper left arm. This sent off alarms in my head and I told my kids I have to call the doctor right away. So I called the emergency number for my doctors office and told them what was happening and while I was on the phone with them I started getting short of breath. The operator on the phone had already called 911 and by the that time we were already home. The EMS arrived within a couple of minutes after that and performed an EKG. They verified that something was definitely going on with my heart and took me to Howard County General Hospital. At the hospital they confirmed that I had been having an acute heart attack and needed immediate cardiogram/angioplasty with option to put in stents. They had me on the operating table within the hour and performed the procedure. The cardiologist confirmed that I had three blockages and that my main coronary artery had a blockage of 99% and the other two blockages were above 90% each. He informed me that they would not be able to put stents in place and that they would have to perform an open heart surgery.  Mind you I was already in shock that I was having a heart attack and now the news that I needed open heart surgery was even more unbelievable. At first I could not comprehend what was happening and it was all going so fast. I thought I was in a dream and that I would wake up at any moment.  Unfortunately it was not a dream.
They brought me back to the ICU and informed me that I will be transported to John Hopkins Hospital Center in Baltimore as soon as they get a room ready for me.
Ofcourse the first thing I did was to make a call to my mother and tell her what was happening. She didn’t believe me at first and then she was also shocked of the news.
I was transported to JHHC by ambulance that day and the surgeon came and spoke with me. He said we have to wait for the surgery to take place because they had given me blood thinners and anti coagulation medicine to perform the angioplasty procedure and that they will have me in medication so the heart attack does not recur.
I had my Surgery 3 days later on 07/03/2019 @ 3:30PM. They surgery lasted about 6.5 hours and was 100% successful without any complications.
I was brought back to the ICU and the staff at JHHC took very good care of me post surgery. I was scheduled to be released on Monday 07/08 but on Sunday I started getting chest pains again that felt as if I was having a heart attack again. After several tests the doctor said my heart had some inflammation that was causing the pain and that it would subside with some more pain killers/anti inflammatory medications. So my release was delayed to Wednesday 07/10
Now I am recovering at home. The only thing that happened out of the ordinary is I got some fluid build up in my lungs that is making my recovery a little slower than normal.
Unfortunately for me I was not prepared or expecting anything like this at this age in my life. I was always active and even working a 12 hour day did not phase me at all. Now this happened and I will be out of work for about 10-12 weeks.
I did not want to do this gofundme but I have no choice and I am asking for all of your help to help me pay for my medical bills, recovery, rent, food, utilities, etc. etc. As most of you know I am a single father of 5 children with one going to college. Any amount that you can help with would be immensely helpful/appreciated and I pray that you will be rewarded multiple times in this world and the hereafter. Ameen!
