MCHS for Jess (Jessica Serio)

As many of you may know, our former Marquette Catholic classmate (and the daughter of our former teacher) Jessica Serio has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Her dad Carmen still works at MCHS, and her mom works at the Hayner Public Library in downtown Alton. My mom works with her at the library and has shared some information with me regarding Jessica's medical situation.
Jessica is still going through chemotherapy and unfortunately has been in and out of the ER every few weeks with various illnesses. She is set to have a surgery on a tumor but the doctors are working hard to determine the best course of action. Since the diagnosis last spring, Jessica has been unable to work. If you are friends with her on Facebook, you have seen her post about the incredible costs of her care, and since she is unable to work consistently, she is on Medicaid, which still leaves her and her family with incredible medical costs.
Jenn (Cummins) Mirabile reached out to me to see if we could put together a GoFundMe page to gather donations in an effort to help offset some of the medical costs Jessica and her family have taken on. If you are able to donate, 100% of the funds raised will go directly to their family. Even if we all just take the money we would spend on one night out and donate that money to this cause instead, it would make a massive difference to the life of a person, and family, that are in desperate need of our help.
Please consider donating as much or as little as you can, and please feel free to share this page with anyone you might know. Equally, if not even more important than monetary donations, are positive thoughts, prayers, and encouragement!
