Support McKayla Young on Her Journey to Miss North Carolina
Donation protected
Greetings! My name is McKayla Elizabeth Young, and I am honored to be Miss Smithfield 2025—only the second woman to hold this title and the first Black woman to do so. On January 25th, I achieved this milestone, and now I am preparing to compete for Miss North Carolina!
The Road to Miss North Carolina
Competing at the state level is an incredible opportunity, but it also comes with significant competition related expenses. Additionally, I need to raise funds to officially compete in June. Your support will not only help me on this journey but will also contribute to my community service initiative, Polished Pathways: Empowering Communities Through Care and Confidence.
What Is Polished Pathways?
Polished Pathways provides underserved individuals with essential personal care and resources to restore dignity and confidence. Through services like haircuts, professional clothing, school supplies, and access to electronics, we help people prepare for educational and professional opportunities. Inspired by the McKinney-Vento Act, this initiative fosters empowerment and self-worth, bridging the gap between appearance and opportunity.
How You Can Support Me
Your contribution helps expand the reach of Polished Pathways, supports heart health research and scholarships for women, and assist with competition expenses.
Here’s how you can get involved:
• Individual Donations: Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
• Vote for Me in the People’s Choice Award: This special award can help me secure a spot as a finalist at Miss North Carolina! Your votes mean the world to me—stay tuned for details on how to vote.
• Donate to My SpotFund for the American Heart Association: I’m raising funds for educational scholarships and heart research through the AHA GO RED x Miss America collaboration! The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women has partnered with Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation to fund both heart disease research and tuition scholarships for women. No donation is too small—join the movement to end heart disease and support women’s education! Donate here: http://spot.fund/lcn1bjsc
More Than a Crown
This journey is about empowerment, service, and representation. Winning Miss North Carolina would allow me to continue advocating for my community on an even larger stage. Thank you for believing in me and in the mission of Polished Pathways. Together, we can create brighter futures for those in need!
With gratitude,
McKayla Young, Miss Smithfield 2025
