Concord McKenna House Expansion

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Aidan Molnar, a junior at Hopkinton High School. I'm trying to raise money to contribute to an additional wing to the McKenna House homeless shelter in Concord.

For the past 30 years the McKenna House has provided shelter to Concord's homeless from New England's often cold and rainy weather. The McKenna House strives to provide a comprehensive program of services designed to help its residents find affordable, permanent housing. Comprehensive case management services help residents learn skills necessary to live independently. It is a transitional living program that houses 26 adult men and women. It is a home-like atmosphere that stresses cooperation and motivation. Residents are provided with a warm bed, three meals a day, toiletries, laundry services, clothing and case management.

However, every year the McKenna House finds itself turning down more people looking for help. They hope to make an expansion that will include ten additional men's beds and six additional women's beds, creating an additional 16,000 bed nights per year. Furthermore, the extra space will allow for other programs such as mentoring and cooking. The expansion will also include improvements to a women's dedicated wing and enable the McKenna House staff to better care for our brave veterans. Hundreds of unsheltered homeless will benefit from this addition.

The Salvation Army, through this campaign and other special fundraising efforts and partnerships, hopes to raise $675,000.  The project is approved and will definitely be happening, but everyone's help is still needed. Please consider donating and sharing this with your friends, everything helps!  I have two anonymous donors who are willing to cover gofundme's 8% tax up to $10,000, so all digital donations go fully to the project.
