My name is McKenzie Elliott. I am a graduating senior from Millard North High School in Omaha Nebraska. I was born on the Christmas following 9/11 and have experienced lots of highs and lows in my life thus far. I am doing this Go Fund Me to help me to pursue my dream of serving people through an education and degree in medicine.
I have worked very hard to get through high school and will continue to exhibit a strong work ethic as I pursue higher education.
It's been a challenging year for me. One of the many challenges I have faced was moving from California to Nebraska and having to leave school and my friends. The challenge of starting my senior year in a new school with no friends created a whole new level of trial. Yet another challenge I have dealt with was the new style of home schooling brought on by the Covid 19 virus. Additionally, I have had to deal with not being able to have a "regular" graduation or celebration.
Despite all these challenges this year, I lettered in Cross Country & Cheer Leading, participated in many clubs, maintained a high GPA while taking AP honors classes and was also able to earn college credits. I was recognized with the Presidents Education Certificate for outstanding academic excellence. I have also maintained a positive and optimistic outlook throughout these trying times!
In normal times I would be able to walk across the stage wearing my Magna Cum Laude chord, receive my diploma with my class and celebrate my achievement with friends and family and continue on to college with my education paid for... but these are not normal times.
I’ve applied for numerous scholarships but because of some mitigating circumstances I was unsuccessful in obtaining them. Because of my financial hardship I am struggling to find a way to pay for my education.
