McKinney Family Fire Recovery

Dear Family and Friends,

Our family home in Minnesota was destroyed in a devastating early morning fire on January 10th, 2024. We are beyond grateful that all people and pets were unharmed, and take comfort in the massive outpouring of love from our community.

The house we lost was home to Roni, Alexander (Marc), Erin, Amina, Damon, Solomon, Malachi, and several fur babies. It was also the gathering spot for extended family from the “Minnesota McKinneys,” as our out-of-state relatives affectionately call us. So many lives have been upended by this disaster – we have lost the nerve center of our family.

Now, we’re starting the slow and painful process of rebuilding, starting with the most urgent assistance. We are setting up this page to handle contributions to cover the mounting costs and immediate needs such as temporary housing, food, clothing, medicines and medical equipment, toiletries, cell phones, the insurance deductible and travel for relatives who are trying to come to Minnesota to help. We are so thankful for your generosity and support.

It might take us a while to respond individually because we’re still in deep shock over the sudden loss and swamped with the logistics of starting from scratch. But we see your messages and feel the love you’re showering on us. Please continue to pray for our family. We are people of faith and believe that, with God, all things are possible.
