McLarty Treasure Museum Renovation Fund
The McLarty Treasure Museum is a small museum on Florida’s Treasure Coast which is dedicated to teaching about the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet who ended up scattered along our shores over 300 year ago. The Friends of Sebastian Inlet State Park are excited to be raising funds to improve and renovate this little gem of a museum. We are embarking on a fund-raising campaign to add displays and artifacts to the museums collection and facilitate a better, more enriching experience for its visitors.
The first step in what might be a $1 Million dollar renovation is the development and funding of a timeline display which will add significantly to the visitor experience and coherency of the museum displays. The display will showcase the people and cultures who called this part of Vero beach home, over the last 10,000 years. These groups include Paleoindian hunter gatherers, Ais Indians, Survivors, Salvagers, and Treasure hunters past and present. This secure, state-of-the-art timeline display will represent the proposed renovation as we continue to improve the museum and expand our collections.
Please consider a contribution and sharing this with your friends. Your help is essential to making the McLarty Treasure Museum the premier destination for learning about our important chapter in Florida’s History. To hear more, please come by the museum for a visit. Our staff and volunteers are excited to see this happen and to share our story with you.
