What started off as a normal mundane day, quickly turned into our worst nightmare as we watched our dream home go up in flames...
The last 2 and a half years of being in and out of the NICU with our miracle micro-preemie Meela and at the same time building our dream home is best summed up as an uphill fight for our family.
We have witnessed firsthand how amazing our friends, family, and community are. The times we didn't have the strength to go on, someone was there to help us.
I have been asked 100 times or more what can we do to help...... to which I often have no answer.
I am still in shock. I cannot wrap my head around the thought that everything is gone.
Starting over wasn’t on our to-do list this year or in the budget!
Kids: Remi 8, Lincoln 7, Titan 5, Halle 4, and Meela 2.5
Thankfully the three older kids were at school, so they did not witness the traumatic devastation.
The chimney of the wood stove, in the garage, caught the roof on fire...
Everything is gone from the van to bikes to four-wheelers, motorcycles, tools, snowboards, and sleds to freezers stocked with food, to everything cloth and wood inside the house.
Damages are still being accessed.
We are thankful and grateful that everyone is safe.
At the moment, we need a 4-wheel drive 7 passenger van.
One day at a time we press on...
Titan's birthday is the 11th and Christmas is a couple of weeks away.
Thank you for your prayers, financial support, and for helping us to bear this burden.
12-08-20 We are in a hotel room with the kids sleeping on the floor. Last night was rough as the kids woke at different times crying and disorientated, not knowing where they were or where the bathroom was.
12-09-20 Remi (8) woke up with a fever. Please pray against all sickness. Meela is immune-compromised and COVID poses a serious threat to her. We need a temporary home until ours is built. Preferably furnished because we do not have anything besides our bodies to furnish a home and indestructible and kid-proof and near the Dayton school that the kids go to. Is that asking too much?
