We are beyond saddened to inform you of the passing of our dearest sister, aunt & friend, Bertha Sefuku, whose beautiful life was taken by COVID-19.
She was an amazing mother to Brad & Amanda, but she was also like a second mom to people around her. She was a selfless woman who took care of so many people, she made you feel at home with her beautiful smile & warm spirit. Bertha was a support system to the Rwandese Community of Michiana, she emphasized the importance of family & we are forever grateful that she was apart of our lives. Bertha was a healthcare hero who worked as a nurse, she was seen as a mentor by many of her coworkers. Bertha's education was extremely important to her, her proudest accomplishment was passing the board to become Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Although she wasn't able to see her hard work become a reality it is not in vain, Bertha's life is testament to how far determination can take you.
Above all else, Bertha was a God-fearing woman who held onto her faith & had a strong relationship with Christ. She believed in the power of prayer & forgiveness, which was always clear in the way she carried herself. Bertha was the embodiment of love, humility & she always showed others kindness regardless of who they were or where they came from.
As we struggle with this new reality, we must pay for medical expenses & funeral arrangements for Bertha so that we can honor her life & legacy. Your donations will make a tremendous difference for our family.
