McNairy Co. Tornado - Betty Murray
Donation protected
Betty Murray’s home that she has been living in for the past 60 years in McNairy County has suffered extensive damage due to the tornados that swept across the country on March 31.
Betty was on the phone with her son who lives in Memphis and he instructed her to take cover in the hallway during the second tornado, she lay on the floor of the hallway with her 2 dogs and a pillow covering her head as the tornado ripped her beloved home apart. When the tornado was passed she was trapped in her home from all of the debris and had to be cut out. Thankfully and miraculously Betty did not sustain any injuries.
Betty is currently staying with family but plans to rebuild on the site. She has been a widower for the past (approximately) 5 years. Speaking with her neighbors we quickly learned that Betty is a beloved member of their neighborhood and a loving grandma figure to many.
Betty has lost nearly everything in the storm but is thankful that God spared her life. Please consider donating to Betty to help her get back on her feet and rebuild in her neighborhood.
All proceeds will go directly to Betty Murray.
