Dear Friends and Family,
We would like to invite you to join us in our next phase of life and share
some exciting news with you. Jack and I are excited to announce that we are adopting a baby, and we want to welcome you to be a part of the
adventure we have ahead of us!
Our story began in seventh grade as classmates and then thirteen years ago we began a lifelong relationship. We have been married for almost five years, and we want to begin to expand our family. Many of you were at our wedding, a part of the celebrating, or have been in one or both of our lives in special ways since that day. Our community is full of role model parents, rock star moms whose children I have had the greatest pleasure of teaching, encouraging friends, teachers, artists, prayer warriors, and we would love nothing more than to have you be a part of our future children’s lives. Thank you for being there for us and loving us in your special ways!
From the very beginning, Jack and I have been open to the idea of
adoption, knowing that we wanted to be parents and wanted to raise a
large family like the ones we come from with strong family values. We have always put our faith in God in that we would one day be married, have children, and live healthy and happy lives. Through the years we set goals and plans that included a very traditional order to things. We married at age twenty-five, waited two years, and started trying to have children naturally when God started speaking firmly to us. Things were not going as planned, and we really had to take a step back to realize God had plans for us, and all we could do was trust and put our full faith in his timing. He said to us, “it is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” (Acts 1:7), and over time, we also started hearing more clearly, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11). Full of hope, we continued to pray for children over the past three years, and all the while, God was working deeply in our hearts. He reminded us of our openness to adopt. We realized that instead of asking God for what we wanted when we wanted it, we needed to pray for our desires to be one with his desires for us. Through these years, our faith has grown tremendously, and we learned to lean on God’s truth.
We are ready and eager to receive this blessing from the Lord; to begin our mission in parenthood: to love and share in God’s glory and to show children God’s Kingdom, so they can know and trust the Lord as we have. We are so thankful for our faith journey that led us to see God’s calling for
us.
There is a lot to be thankful for, and we want to share some of our favorite things with our kids. Music and dance, art, nature, food, travel, friends and family are among our greatest passions. We want to pass on some of the great traditions that got us here, the ones that help us celebrate life. And we want to help develop new traditions, traditions that will make the world a better place and traditions that respect life. We believe God knows our children by name, and we can’t wait to meet them and share life with them! Thank you for your prayers and support in our journey!
