GIVING HOPE TO THE PEOPLE OF OMEALLY
Donation protected
Omeally is located in northeast St. Catherine, Jamaica.
This beautiful community was impacted by a massive landslide in 2004 when the island was hit by hurricane Ivan. The political representatives have failed to carry out any sort of repairs even though it has been brought to their attention on numerous occasions. The residents of the community were having difficulties commuting to and from work, school, doctors appointments, difficulties getting their produce to the market, etc.
As a result of the unsafe roadway, taxis refuses to come into the community for passengers. This in turn, was an inconvenience for residents as they now would have to walk many miles to get to a location where they were able to have access to transportation. The members of the community came together and taken the responsibility and built a temporary retaining wall on the opposite side of the roadway in order to get transportation to squeeze by.
20 years later, here comes huricane Beryl. With no proper reinforcement in place, Beryl has taken the remaining section of the roadway, making it impossible for any sort of vehicles to get by. The residents are desperately seeking your help in order to raise funds for building a proper retaining wall. Any amount of donation will go a long way and your contribution towards this project will be greatly appreciated.
