Help Me Give McPherson a Voice in Canberra – Support My Independent Campaign!

I’m Michelle Faye and I’m running for the federal seat of McPherson in the 2025 election as an independent and I need your help. This is about giving real people a voice in Canberra—because we’ve been let down by our government for too long.

Political parties spend millions of dollars on their campaigns, this results in an election playing field that is uneven, with independents struggling to be seen.

I’m not a career politician, I’m one of you. I’ve been through the struggles that so many of us face. I’m a survivor of domestic violence, an advocate for those suffering in silence, a mother, a former educator and a law student. I’ve owned businesses and been an employee, a homeowner and a tenant. I’ve fought against a patchwork of broken government systems and faced hardships head-on, just like you.

I volunteer around 15 hours a week to support those affected by domestic and family violence and I truly believe in the power of community to bring about change. I’m committed to tackling the real issues that impact us every day—gender-based violence, homelessness, crime, mental health, sustainability and the rising cost of living.

When we address these social issues, we can save money in the long run. By tackling violence, homelessness and mental health issues head-on, we reduce the strain on our healthcare system, justice system and welfare programs. This, in turn, will free up more funds in the government’s budget that can be used to lower taxes and reduce the cost of living for all Australians.

This election isn’t just about me. It’s about us. It’s about working together to build a better future for everyone on the Gold Coast and the Country, one where our voices are heard in Canberra. But I can’t do it without your support.

Together, we’ll make sure our voices are heard.

The first project will be to set up an initial community hub, where the community can be involved in having a say, local business and charities are able to showcase their products and projects. We require $800 for signage and resources plus $800 for the initial month rent followed by $800 per month to keep it operational. It will staffed by volunteers including myself.

The second stage will require 200 signs, approx cost $1400.

During this time a social media campaign will continue. I have to date self funded and I would like to increase exposure at a cost of $140 per week.
