McQuade Family Lightshow 2023 - Manzano Family

This year The McQuade Family Christmas Lightshow is sponsoring the Monzano Family. Here is their story...
On January 2, 2023, exactly a year after moving from Miami, a few hours after returning home from a vacation to celebrate New Years Eve in Washington D.C, my husband Federico collapsed in front of us. I preformed CPR on him until the ambulance arrived, while our children tried to help. Unfortunately it was too late.
He was the head of the household and the only income we had; it was not an easy decision for me to not work outside the home, but we decided this when my daughter was 10 months old, and we discovered that she needed therapies and special care. Three weeks after his passing, I started working at the local school as a paraprofessional to support my family. My job has become my escape and I am able to turn my pain into love, for each of the little ones that comes to me seeking a hug.
The death of my husband was a horrible experience and very traumatic for my children who sunk into depression, especially my son. Thanks to neighbors and friends we found Valerie’s House, whose amazing crew not only helped us and guided us to find and get all the support we need, but they treat us like family! Thanks to them my children are beginning to smile again and feel that we are not alone.
We ask that you consider giving to this special family in need and help them to feel the love our community has for them!
