Landon Eddy was a healthy 18 year old ....until his first grand mal seizure just before Christmas triggered a visit to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. While there, this vibrant, happy guy who always has a smile for everyone was diagnosed with left insular low grade glioma - or quite simply 'a brain tumor the size of a mandarin orange'. Since then, seizures have continued despite the expensive medication he is on. Doctors are unsure of treatment for the large tumor due to the risks with surgery, so his Mom, Farrah, will be doing a lot of traveling with him along with his younger brother, for consultations with surgeons in Vancouver and possibly Winnipeg or other locations.
Farrah is a single mom, who has raised the boys on her own, after their Dad experienced a stroke which left him majorly impaired when their children were young. He now resides with family out of town and is unable to help financially, plus they are not on any extended medical plans that would normally help alleviate some of the financial stress.
Any funds donated will be much appreciated by the family to cover some of the ongoing costs of meds, travel and lost wages as they struggle to find answers. There are already trips to Vancouver and possibly Calgary being organized for specialist appointments. We realize the holiday season is expensive and though it is even harder for this family....every little bit helps.
While Landon’s Mom, Farrah, is helping her son through this, Lisa Moonie is responsible for overseeing the withdrawal and transfer of funds to Farrah, outside of GoFundMe. Thank you in advance for your kindness <3
*04/14/19 Update - Landon has been receiving weekly drip treatments that are not covered by medical ($500/week) and he has had ongoing seizures. There is an immunotherapy and dendtric T-cell therapy in the states or Europe but it is not covered, either. Traditional radiation will be done here in BC as it's covered. Any help is appreciated! Also, friends are in the process of organizing a golf tournament fundraiser, if anyone would like to help by registering or donating silent auction prizes.
