Jacob’s Journey

Hi, we are posting this for our friend Jacob. If you can help in any way, anything is appreciated to help with his continued treatment. They were hoping to be able to move Jake back home, however that was not possible due to his most recent surgery. Below you can an update from Pam regarding Jacob’s most recent treatment.

The Bowen Family

Many of you have been following Jacob's Journey since April, 2023. In late March he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his right hip. Since that time he has had 29 plus weeks of chemotherapy along with a major surgery which involved a hemipelectomy. In January, scans showed that he has spots in his lungs and a reoccurence in the pelvic area. This was not the result we were hoping for. Since that time has undergone 3 different types of chemotherapy along with radiation to the hip area. He has had many bumps along the way including a current infection in his hip joint. He has overcome each of these obstacles, but each one has delayed treatments and next steps. We are currently waiting to resume chemotherapy, then meet with a thoracic surgeon to address the lungs and then refocus on the hip. The great news is that despite all these obstacles, the nodules in his lungs have not shown any progression!

Needless to say, this has been very difficult for our whole family. We truly appreciate the love and support from so many. We could not do this without it.
