Alyssa was involved in a tragic car crash on Saturday, October 28th that left her with a severely broken ankle and totaled truck. After a long days work, she was heading home to be with her family to participate in the Halloween festivities. Unfortunately, she was turned around and taken to the hospital for her first operation.
Alyssa is a mother of 4 (8, 6, [almost] 2, and 8m) and both she and her husband work full time. Due to the birth of their youngest child earlier this year, they already used their paid leave benefits. Funds raised will go towards daily life expenses to keep them afloat until she is able to return to work.
Alyssa is still expected to go through at least one more operation to put plates and screws in to stabilize her ankle. Currently, she is expected to be off her ankle for a minimum of 3 months.
There is also a meal train set up. Please help us share and support The Robertson family.
On Nov. 3, Alyssa had her second surgery! The swelling in her ankle finally reduced enough to do the surgery. They removed the rods through her ankle stabilizing it and replaced it with two plates and 13 screws! The surgery went well, but Alyssa will remain in the hospital for a few more days for pain management.
The hospital is not allowing children, so as you can imagine, this would be very hard on any mom. She hasn't been able to see her children for a week now and it will still be a few mores days.
We're hopeful Alyssa will finally get to go home Monday but we'll still have to see. Currently, they are estimating 3 to 4 months of healing time and recovery.
