Please help me buy a Wheelchair

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Ben, I'm 26 and I have Cerebral palsy & a learning disability. I don't walk & so I have used a wheelchair since I was 5yrs old. I got my current powered wheelchair when I was 17 from the NHS and a local kids charity paid for me to have a riser fitted so I could rise up and look people in the eye. The NHS aim to replace wheelchairs every 3-5 yrs depending on the condition of the chair. Obviously, I've had my wheelchair for nearly 10 years, not because it's in such good condition, it hasn't been working properly for over 2 years, it suddenly runs out of battery, which is terrifying, and a relay switch on it had been broken for 18 mths so it wouldn't move out of snail mode. (A friend's husband fixed that for me recently). It's hard for me to feel safe going anywhere in it. I have moved into my own place for the first time recently and my current wheelchair isn't suitable for where I live, I get wedged stuck sometimes trying to turn corners or move around indoors. You see, I had been on a waiting list for 2 years to be assessed for a new wheelchair, but because I was moving to a different area, when I finally had my assessment, they wouldn't replace my wheelchair. Now I am waiting to go on a new, long waiting list, but even when I get my assessment, I've discovered I won't get the wheelchair I need through the NHS, because of funding cuts, they won't supply it. So, I am going to raise the money myself to buy my own wheelchair. Having this new wheelchair will mean I can be more independent, get around in my house and community and continue with my training to be a handball coach, Djing & my goal to get a job. I would be really grateful if you felt able to spare a few pounds to help me reach this goal. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
