Empowering with Service Dogs

Hi there, I'm Adie, and I'm reaching out to share a little about my journey and why I'm in need of your support.

Imagine facing each day with the uncertainty of whether you'll be able to walk without pain or do the simplest tasks without struggling. That's been my reality since I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis at the age of 14. This autoimmune disorder has turned my life upside down, causing inflammation in every joint in my body and leaving me in excruciating pain during flare-ups.

As if that weren't enough, I'm also battling CPTSD, severe depression, and an anxiety disorder. These conditions often make it difficult for me to even leave my house, let alone envision myself thriving in a college environment.

However, amidst these challenges, there's a glimmer of hope: a service dog. My medical team, including my rheumatologist and psychiatrist, believe that a service dog could be the key to unlocking a brighter future for me. With a furry companion by my side, I'll have the support I need to navigate campus life, manage my conditions, and pursue my dreams of higher education.
