Me spend quality precious time with my family

As most of you know I've had a rollercoaster of a time the past 10 months!
Double pulmonary embolisms and a lung infection in May which led to a shocking diagnosis on 15th August 2022 of incurable stage 4 NSCLC with mets to the other lung and lymph nodes. They could try and treat it just to prolong my life. I would only be able to have treatment for 2 years and then thats it! I am alk- the small 5% of us that means there are no other options. If I was alk+ I could try a chemo tablet. We were all devastated. I've got an amazing husband and 6 beautiful children ranging from 19 to 2. I've never seen so many tears shed in one house. Absolutely heart breaking.
A few weeks later we found it had spread to my liver too...its moving fast. We decided to renew our vows and kept busy starting to sort that out with loads of help from family, friends and strangers!.
On 15th September I started chemo and immunotherapy. I had 4 strong rounds, suffered with side effects. Then a ct scan the day before our vow renewal. Our day was just amazing! Loved every minute!
The next week we got the results! Shrinkage in liver and lung and completely gone from lymph nodes! Amazing! Couldn't be happier!
I carried on with treatments ( but now changed to maintenance chemo).
Over the next few months I'm in and out of hospital being poorly. We find it's spread to the bones. Mets to l2 of my spine and pelvis. We only found out because I could not walk, extra ct scans were done to find this.
I think that when someone has a cancer diagnosis, no matter where the primary is, you should ne scanned top to bottom just incase! I'd only been having scans of my chest neck and abdomen. If they had done this from the start I wouldn't have suffered for months with pain.
I am currently in hospital with sepsis. I've had 10 days iv antibiotics and still spiking a temperature. On my ct scan from Thursday we have been told the devastating news that the chemo has stopped working! I've been told I don't have long left...we can find out on Wednesday if we want to. I've always avoided it because I'm scared to know but think I need to know because I don't want to plod. I want to make the most of every precious second and do exciting things with my family. This will be more doable woth the help of you guys ❤️ I'll update on here as I know more xx
