Hi everyone,
My name is Negin. I'm an Iranian artist who recently moved to France. Coming from Iran, a country in the Middle East (if you're not familiar), a land rich in art and history, I have been both blessed and burdened by my origins. While my roots have nurtured my creativity, the oppressive regime ruling the country has cast a shadow over almost everything. Due to the harsh situations produced by a regime known for violence and oppression, I have suffered a lot.
Despite my best efforts to thrive in that environment and to do my best the yearning for freedom grew too strong to ignore. And so, with a heavy heart, I left behind everything and moved to Lyon, France.
I left behind everything I had in my life - my work, my home, my parents, and my two precious cats.
Here, I strive to rebuild my life as an artist free from the shackles of censorship and persecution. I took a course in "French for Artists" at the University of Lyon 2 for a year. I aime to improve my language skills quickly to find a job, enter an art school next year and build a better future career here.
However, this path is full of challenges. The costs of education, visa applications, and daily expenses weigh heavily on me. Our money worth almost nothing here.
As I navigate this unfamiliar terrain, I find myself in need of support to sustain myself during this crucial transition period. I currently have a few online painting and yoga courses and I plan to find work opportunities here, but until then, I am under pressure to finance myself and pay my bills. With what i have left so far I can only go on for few months.
I have dedicated my life to art and storytelling, with a particular focus on empowering women and girls like myself. Now, at this juncture of uncertainty, I humbly seek a helping hand to weather the initial storm. Your contribution can make a world of difference, enabling me to establish a stable foundation, set up a studio where I can live and work in, and hopefully reunite with my beloved cats, who I miss enormously.
