Help me get to Prague for the World Tap Championships

Hi, my name is Laura Hendrickson. I am a 17-year-old junior at Franklin Community High School who has been dancing since she was five. I am a passionate tap dancer and will be joining Team USA to represent the United States of America at the World Tap Championships in Prague, Czech Republic in October 2024.

I started competing with Style Dance Academy in Franklin, IN at the age of seven. I have recently began teaching and assisting with classes at Style. I currently tap dance with Circle City Tap Company and Detroit Tap Repertory, as well as participating in shows with Tap 24.7 out of Phoenix, AZ. I train extensively with 5-time world tap champion Mike Glenney out of Canada, and I have attended many workshops and tapfests across the country, as well as performing with the Motor City Tapfest Performance Crew.

I am proficient in various dance styles, including tap, contemporary, acro, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and musical theater, but tap is where my heart is. I have been in Circle City Tap for four years and Detroit Tap for two years. I plan to attend college at Franklin College to get an individualized degree in Dance Therapy while I teach dance at a local studio and continues my own education and career as a tap dancer. When I am not dancing, I enjoy reading thriller novels as well as historical fiction.

I am currently seeking financial support to cover the expenses of my training, travel, lodging, costumes, etc. This prestigious international competition is a significant investment, and I am reaching out to friends, family, and local businesses to help make this dream a reality.
