Students fighting homelessness | Dreams of Change

Welcome ‘The Me2u project’ to the Santa Cruz Community! Us students have put together a non-profit organization focused on supporting and advocating for the homeless community! I am sure y'all are aware of the homelessness crisis going on in our city, and how it's even affecting students. Isn’t it heartbreaking about 16% of our fellow banana slugs are going through this nightmare? Homelessness itself is unacceptable but allowing students to deal with it is absolutely unacceptable.
One side of The Me2u Project will bring food, clothes, shelter, and jobs to the homeless community while the other side will focus on developmental research, community outreach, and advocating for the so-called 'invisible people' . Our long term goal is to eradicate homelessness in the entire nation (yes, we are big dreamers) , if poorer countries can manage to maintain low homeless rates, a country as fortunate as the U.S. should be able to eliminate it altogether. With a little hard work and enough drive imagine the possibilities we can achieve.
We want EVERYONE to join us and create a beautiful community of humanitarians!
Although we are students that attend UC Santa Cruz, we are not affiliated with the university. Meaning that we will have to produce our own resources and seek funding. With a decent-sized team of intellectuals who are willing to make positive sacrifices, working to get funding shouldn't be too much of a challenge given we really want to see change. Unfortunately at the moment our ‘tax-exempt’ is still processing, which means we are very very limited as far as funding. Once we are approved receiving funding shouldn't be as difficult, but for now getting enough money raised to allow for a smooth start to the school year would set us up for so much success.
We want to thank all of our donors in advance for your kindness and consciousness.You are making our establishment possible! We understand not everyone is in a position to donate, so below are two other ways you can help!

The best way to understand and become aware of the crisis at hand is to volunteer. Our organization has goals of hosting events multiple times a week that would allow volunteers to be apart of the change. We understand that not everyone has time to volunteer, but if you do, it could have a positive impact on not only our community but also on yourself! Sign up to volunteer below!
