Help Lisa Fight Cancer

My friend Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2020. A surgery in March failed to completely remove the tumor, and she had to get a follow up surgery. This surgery was effective, but had a damaging impact on Lisa's physical health and still left lingering concerns that the cancer could return. The doctors have recommended radiation to help improve Lisa's odds, but that treatment has even more serious side effects.

If you’ve been around cancer, you know that cancer, as difficult as it is, is still only half the battle. The battle for survival and the treatments used take a physical, mental, and emotional toll. In Lisa’s case, these effects are compounded by pre-existing heart disease and auto-immune conditions that are seriously challenging her road to recovery. While insurance fortunately covers costs of the main surgeries, they offer nothing for follow-up treatments that her body needs to recover from the side effects of all the cancer treatments.

There are treatment options available that could sustain Lisa's struggle to recover, but to fund them requires financial resources out of her resource range. The financial stress on top of everything can be debilitating, and we want to provide the financial freedom to care for herself appropriately. The total here includes both past medical expenses incurred as well the costs of those treatments Lisa would pursue if she had the means.
