MeadowFest - A Concert for Mental Health Awareness

On August 12, 2023, after a year-long struggle with mental illness, our family lost our youngest daughter Meadow to suicide. While our family suffers this tremendous loss, we know that there are other families and at-risk teenagers struggling with mental health challenges. We are raising money to put on a benefit concert for two important Austin-area organizations that address mental health concerns and help dispel the stigma of suicide within our community:

Out Youth Austin - An organization whose mission is to promote the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of sexual and gender minority youth.

SIMS Foundation - An organization that provides mental health and substance use recovery services and support for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members.

The concert date is set for August 24, 2024 at The Far Out Lounge, with a capacity of 3,500 people, has generously offered to host the fundraising event. The lineup is TBA, but is already set for the event.

In order to have a successful event and dedicate 100% of ticket sales towards the two named beneficiaries, there are numerous expenses associated with the venue which include sound, lighting, security, as well as promotional expenses. In addition, although many of the bands are generously donating their time, music-related expenses remain. This "gofundme" is to raise money for all known fees plus contingencies, with any leftover funds being dedicated equally to the two beneficiaries.

Our family is dedicated towards shining a bright light on the importance of mental health and wellness, and raising awareness regarding the threat of suicidal ideation. We hope to raise money and awareness in memory of Meadow!
