Meadowbrook's Horse Welfare Fund

On this Giving Tuesday, Meadowbrook Stables hopes you will consider contributing to our Horse Welfare Fund. This fund assures we have resources to address the unexpected and often urgent medical needs of our hard-working horses and ponies. As you know, this past spring, Meadowbrook Stables experienced a herd-wide outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV) in its most serious neurologic form. Thanks to the prompt action and tireless efforts of our team over several months, and the tremendous on-going support from our veterinary team, we are proud to say our horses not only survived the outbreak, but are thriving! With that said, the work is continuing and many of our horses and ponies still need post-EHV help. For some, this means extra rehabilitation work. For others, it means time away from the barn to recover. And for all, it means on-going monitoring and care to assure we do our best for all of our amazing equine partners.

We are so grateful to our team, and the many community members who have donated time and money to assure the success of our efforts thus far. But if EHV taught us anything, it’s that there will be future unplanned health needs, and as an organization dedicated to horse welfare, we need to replenish our Horse Welfare Fund to assure we can always fulfill our mission.

For these reasons, we are dedicating all funds raised on Giving Tuesday to our Horse Welfare Fund, so that we can always keep the well-being of our incredible animals at the forefront of all we do.
