Meal& ExpenseSupport Angels for Martellaro Family

Hello all, my name is Denise, and I am looking for Angels to help support the Martellaro family during a most difficult time. The family has had emotional and financial hardship for many years as Jimmy, a loving father and husband, has struggled with so many health issues, unable to work for over a decade. Jimmy has been in the hospital since June, as he suffered a tragic brain bleed that left him on life support for an extended time. These past few weeks, Jimmy had been improving--just last week sitting up and communicating with his family. Saturday, to everyone's shock, and unrelated to his current health concerns, Jimmy's heart just STOPPED. After 40 minutes of various attempted efforts to bring Jimmy back, Vaso and her youngest son, Maximus, stood by, witnessing Jimmy leave this earth.
To understand the history, Jimmy's health issues began with open heart surgery in 1999, when a titanium aortic valve was put in his heart. The surgery was a success, and Jimmy's doctor often joked that the surgeon chose 'a good one from the shelf'. Jimmy had 4 abdominal surgeries in 2003-2004. He has been hospitalized too many times to recall the number. Jimmy has been on disability since 2013, unable to provide for his family altogether. Jimmy's brain aneurysm on June 16, 2021 landed him in the hospital for the duration of his life. He died of heart failure on November 13, 2021.
Vaso is a caring wife (35 years married!) and mother (of their two boys) who has worked tirelessly to care for her husband, raise her boys, and cover the family's expenses. Vaso went to college in recent years and is only 6 hours away from her degree, with the intent of being able to better provide for her family. Vaso's commitment to her family is unparalleled. Rest is not something Vaso has had in over a decade. School was put on hold due to the expense and the amount of time it required, taking away from time she needs to work to provide.
Meals, though so appreciated, are not practical, as the family does not have sufficient storage with such a small refrigerator and (rental) home.
In the eyes of this faithful woman, peace seems to be unattainable. This family has lost so much. Paying for a funeral, rent, utilities, fuel for their car....looming anxieties and life itself so overwhelming. The plot has been provided for cemetery. As we were chatting Vaso realized how she wished she could have a plot beside her husband, as she would most certainly like to be laid to rest with her husband of 35 years when her time comes. So much is overwhelming. I am looking for Support Angels that will help me to bring, at minimum, some financial peace to this family, for as long as we can carry them as they grieve and learn how to navigate a new world without their husband and father.
Many hands make a light work. Even a small gift of $5 or $10, when joined with others, makes a difference. If you would have offered to make a meal, please consider what you would have spent on groceries and simply donate that amount (or more). No donation is too small, and will be greatly appreciated. Further, if you would like to donate in another way, please reach out to me directly.
I will accept checks (written to Vaso Martellaro) or gift cards to deliver to the family directly.
I will also accept donations through my Venmo account @Denise-Whittington-1
Your prayers for this family will be so much appreciated.
May God bless you as we enter this season of thankfulness and joy.
Eternal Memory. Αιωνια Η Μνημη.
