Meal in Honor of Michael Kearney

Tax deductible
Please join us in raising $5,000 (or more!) to honor the incredible and inspiring life of Michael Kearney, a dear friend and a relentless advocate for the poor. Michael died in his home in Asheville, NC this past June.

If we reach our goal of raising $5,000, we will name a meal at St. Anthony's Dining Room in honor of Michael on his birthday (October 7). The Dining Room serves thousands of meals daily to homeless and low-income individuals and families. During his decade-long career at St. Anthony's, Michael embraced the inherent belief that all people are worthy of dignity and respect--a belief he put into practice every day in all aspects of his work. 100% of proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to benefit St. Anthony's Dining Room.

Michael was so many things to so many people, wrapped up in one lovable ball of energy: a southern gentleman, a big old queen, a church-goer, and a midnight dancer. He loved and was loved with infinite abundance. The world is a far better place because of you, Michael. You will be missed by many. R.I.P.

Since 1950, St. Anthony's free Dining Room has served more than 42 million meals, relying entirely on private donations (St. Anthony's does not accept any government funding). Along with an extensive set of wraparound services, St. Anthony's has been a beacon of hope and an enduring refuge for poor and marginalized residents of San Francisco.
