Meals for Chelsea Partnership

Please join the Meals for Chelsea (MA) Partnership! COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the City of Chelsea- residents are experiencing a high rate of COVID-19 infection and many have lost their jobs which has greatly increased the need for food. Volunteers from Parish of the Epiphany (Winchester) have long partnered with St. Luke's- San Lucas Episcopal Church,(Chelsea) to address food insecurity through the Food Pantry and Community Kitchen at St. Luke's. With these currently closed, a new and exciting way to provide food has been developed. In partnership with Bella Isla Express, residents receiving emergency groceries from St. Luke's can now also stop at this local restaurant for a free, hot meal. This not only allows someone to receive a nutritious and culturally familiar meal but it also helps to keep a small, woman-owned business afloat during the pandemic. It's a win-win!
We are currently raising $600 each week to fund 100 meal vouchers from Bella Isla, distributed to residents at the St. Luke's food distribution program on Saturdays. We hope to continue this partnership until we are able to re-open the Community Kitchen meal program at St. Luke's (or until we run out of funds!). For now, we are hoping that the Community Kitchen can re-open in September.
If we were to raise well more than our goal, we would look into increasing the number of vouchers from Bella Isla or engaging in partnership with an additional restaurant.
Please consider making a donation to this partnership and help us feed as many people as we can!
Thank you!
