Meals For Farm Workers March
Donation protected
LaMarcha Tapas Bar in Berkeley is providing several meals for farm workers who are marching in efforts to get Gavin Newsom to sign Assembly Bill 2183, or the Labor Relations Voting Choice Act. The bill would modernize the 1975 Agricultural Labor Relations Act by allowing California farmworkers to vote on whether to unionize in secret, whenever and wherever they feel safe.
We need your help to fund the cost of providing meals for supporters who are marching to make their voices heard. They will be walking many miles in very hot weather, and providing nourishing meals will help supply the energy they need to make this physically demanding statement for rights that have been long overdue.
The 24-day march began on August 3rsd in Delano and will end at the State Capitol in Sacramento. Farmworkers play a huge role in American agriculture. Farmworkers contribute to the production and distribution of crops in almost every state in the U.S., performing many labors, including; plant, cultivating, harvesting, process and packaging food for shipment and sale. Their work has a much more significant impact on our daily lives than we may realize, which is why they should receive the same rights as other workers, with additional support from you. They work long days away from their loved ones. We at LaMarcha want to support them in their efforts for equality and believe that providing meals is a valuable way to show our support and appreciation.
We are here to support those affected, which is ultimately all of us.
If you wish to donate supplies (water, electrolytes, snacks, etc.), we will be collecting donations in Berkeley. Please email [email redacted] to coordinate the delivery of donations.
