Meals for Frontline Healthcare Workers - STL
Donation protected
As we all are intimately aware, the COVID19 pandemic has affected the United States in a profound way with over 965,214 confirmed cases as of April 27, 2020. In St. Louis city/county, the reported number of cases is 3,801 with numbers increasing daily.
Healthcare workers, despite concerns about personal protective equipment shortage, are on the frontlines, working tirelessly, sacrificially, and bravely to care for patients infected by COVID19. These healthcare workers are daughters, sons, siblings, and parents just like me and you. I am looking to support the frontline physicians and staff at Barnes Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis by providing meals and nourishment for them as they fight this battle daily. Donations will be used to order from local restaurants and businesses that will hopefully help them during this difficult period as well.
On average, it costs $10 per person/per meal. I hope to provide 50+ meals per delivery during the upcoming weeks. Depending on the amount of donations, I hope to provide meals for frontline healthcare workers at other hospitals in the region, too.
If you have been meaning to show appreciation for frontline healthcare workers or have been wanting to be a part of the fight against COVID19 in St. Louis but were unsure of how to do so, please consider making a donation.
As I coordinate meal deliveries, I will make sure to post the number of meals, date of delivery and the local restaurant/business it was ordered from.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Esther Chung
About me: My name is Esther Chung and I graduated from Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM). I am currently a dermatology resident at Washington University in St. Louis. I started this goFundme because like many of us, I wanted to show appreciation to those who are on the frontlines here in St. Louis, a city I have grown to love and now call my home. As a side note, I have a second goFundme for frontline healthcare workers at WCM. Please note that these fundraisers are NOT sponsored by Weill Cornell Medicine, Washington University and its affiliated hospitals. Thank you for reading and considering being a part of these efforts.
