Meals for Merganser Duck Babies!

These babies needed your help and you all responded! Thank you very much! We’ve received over 20 Hooded and Common Merganser Ducklings so far this year, which is unusual for our wildlife clinic. They were all very hungry and needed nutritious food to grow strong and healthy so they can take care of themselves when we return them back to the wild where they belong. Their parents weren't able to raise them. Thanks to you they are all doing well!

…and they eat A LOT! Bloodworms, silversides, krill, mealworms, and crickets are all on their diet.

These protein-packed foods are essential for proper muscle and feather growth. It is currently costing over $700 per week to care for these youngsters that desperately need our assistance.

Please help us reach or goal of raising $3,200 to offset the cost of feeding these vulnerable and fragile ducklings, so that together, we can return them to where nature intended…their wild habit!

Since 1976, we have treated and rehabilitated tens of thousands of patients, including many that were brought to us with severe injuries needing surgical care. Our mission is to provide professional, compassionate rehabilitation to native injured and orphaned wild birds and contaminated wildlife, and to promote their stewardship through education and humane research. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we receive a third of our annual funding from private donations, and we depend on our dedicated league of volunteers to assist in day-to-day wildlife care and education.
