Meals for New York City Healthcare Workers
Donation protected
Who We Are
We opened Teranga in 2019 to serve our local Harlem and New York City community with healthy African food, to create a sense of welcome where everyone feels at home. Now, due to COVID-19, most of us have been asked to stay at home, except those on the front lines of this battle. We feel a responsibility to play whatever role we can to support New Yorkers during this challenging time. For us, that means providing hospital personnel with meals and also supporting our staff who rely on Teranga for a living wage.
It is in this spirit that we have launched this campaign. Partner with us in donating daily meals to hospitals across NYC and help us bring back as many of our team members as we can.
Fundraising Goal
Our goal is to raise $50,000 through the end of May and provide 5,000 meals for NYC hospital workers.
$10 provides a meal
$100 feeds a unit of 10
$250 feeds a unit of 25
$500 feeds a unit of 50
Our Food
We serve healthy and comforting African cuisine with a focus on African-grown superfood ingredients. Our menu is completely gluten and dairy-free, and throughout this campaign, we will serve Vegan and Chicken Bowls.
Vegan Bowl:
- Jollof Rice (rice cooked in a tomato broth)
- Ndambe (black eyed pea, sweet potato, okra stew)
- Efo Riro (kale, okra, red palm oil stew)
Grilled Chicken Bowl:
- Jollof Rice (rice cooked in a tomato broth)
- Grilled Chicken (thyme, garlic, lime)

- Efo Riro (kale, okra, red palm oil stew)
Thank You!
We will regularly update photographs on this page and on our Instagram account (@itsteranga_) to highlight our community's contributions.
We humbly ask for your support.
