Meals for our front line health care workers

Donation protected
We need our front line health care workers in the Kootenay Lake Hospital ER department to feel supported by the community at this time.

The best way I could think of would be to provide them with individually packaged and convenient meals. After receiving feedback, I think frozen meals may be a good way to start. These meals will be prepped by local restaurants, that have been screened and questioned about  extra precautions they are taking to keep our health workers safe from asymptomatic contamination of Coronavirus.  I have contacted some local restaurants already who would be willing to help with this project. I will organize volunteers for the delivery of food, in order to save on the cost of delivery services.

I’ve been in touch with Paul Cunningham, the head ER nurse at Kootenay Lake Hospital. He will be my communication person for coordinating the receiving of the food - plus the feedback  from the hospital workers, should our system need improvement.

In this way, we will support both community businesses, and our ESSENTIAL front line workers. Without them, we are in huge trouble.

Let’s show them our appreciation through ACTION ❤️

Please consider donating even a small amount such as $5-10, as every bit counts.

And of course, hit share so all of your friends can take part as well!

PS - if there was enough of a response to this, I would love to see this service support the RCMP and Ambulance service as well.

Thank you in advance for your support!
