Giving Tree from Chestnut
Donation protected
Since launching the Giving Tree on April 15th 2020, thanks to your support and generosity we have been able to undertake a number of successful community projects. The largest initiative to date was cooking, packaging and delivering over 25,000 meals to NHS Hospitals, Care Homes and Hospice's in East Anglia. A hugely worthwhile project carried out by a team of 60 Chestnut volunteers.
We have also worked alongside Newmarket Festival and the Three Churches charity to provide free kids school meals during October Half Term and also sourced and delivered a number of Christmas boxes to families that needed a helping hand over the Festive period.
Now we find ourselves back in lockdown, we have launched a new initiative called Miles 4 Meals.
Our wonderful team have committed to walking, running and cycling every day and every mile we cover, we will donate one home cooked meal to a local family. With child poverty being more prevalent than ever, we feel that our focus now needs to shift to supporting our local communities and those families that need a helping hand during this difficult time.
