Me and My Hero

Donación protegida
Hi my name is Romeo Ryan, a.k.a. Rappin Romeo. Me and My Hero is a book that I have written about my late brother Rusty Ryan who was the first black Calera High School Football Player to play on an all white team in 1968 in Shelby County Alabama. This fundraiser will allow me to cover several different states to promote the book and it will also help me to produce a thousand copies of the book. I hope to be able to sell some copies but I would also like to be able to freely give away copies to those that are truely interested in Rusty's story but can't afford to purchase it. I have a Classic 1985 Fleetwood Pace Arrow RV (that we call the Ark) that I will travel the United States in while promoting our book. This funding will help me with regular maintenance & fuel, ect. Once again I'd like to say thanks for helping me honor my late brother with this tour. Rusty was a true pioneer and hero. He was also a military soldier that was laid to rest in 2014 with honors at the United States National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Thanks again for considering Me and My Hero and May the Lord Continue to Bless You and Your Family.
Sincerely, Romeo Ryan
For more information on Rusty Ryan go to meandmyhero.org and there you can read about how he was the first black to integrate high school football in Shelby County Alabama in 1968. As I previously said I am Romeo Ryan. I am Rusty's youngest brother. I got the nickname Romeo in high school from an English teacher Ms. Terry Bressler. A.k.a Rappin Romeo was the nickname I was given by radio talk show host Rick and Bubba. My rap group The American Boy's once was the opening act for their band formerly known as Mr. Lucky. Then we went on to win their national talent search in Nashville Tennessee. I have enjoyed listening to their #1 radio talk show for 25 great years. I made my television debut just like the famous Tammy Wynette did on the Country Boy Eddie Show in Birmingham Alabama. Those truely were the good old days. Now some of you may recall seeing me do a little acting on The Ricky Lake, Montel Williams, Forgive and Forget with Robin Givins,The Joy Brown, The Jenny Jones and The Judge Hatchett Pilot Show where I had the opportunity to embarrass my beautiful, sweet wife of 25 years, Patti Sue. For over 30 years I have entertained and witnessed at Schools, Churches, Youth Detentions, Prisons and State Fairs and Family Reunions with the support of my family and friends but mainly being sponsored by my late brother Arvis E. Ryan better known as Rusty who was and always will be my hero. I'm going on a Memorial Tour through several different states to tell as many people as I can what a great person and Man of God that my brother Rusty was. The Me and My Hero book tour will begin on July 4th through Dec. 14th.
