Join The Fight Against Hunger!

Small Change. Big Impact.
Hunger is often an invisible battle, but it is fought by people close to each of us and plagues almost every community. We are three students at the University of Chicago who saw a major need in our local Chicago community. We wanted to join the fight to end food insecurity and that’s how Meaningfull Meals was born!
How we work…
After months of hard work, our vision is finally starting to become a reality and, with your help, we can hit the ground running. Our mission is to eliminate food insecurity starting on a local level by empowering consumers to give back to their local community through everyday purchases. We provide a platform for businesses to display local pride and facilitate consumer action. Our partner restaurants will offer “Meaningfull Meals” and provide diners with information about our organization. The restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to us and we will redistribute those donations to local non-profits and organizations with a track record of transparency and responsibility. The customer will be given a tracking code that they can enter on our website to see exactly how their donation helped someone in need.
By making small changes to their purchasing habits, consumers can help their communities band together to strengthen those around them.
What’s next…
Our goal is to be in our first restaurant very soon and, after that, we hope to continue to grow. The Clinton Global Initiative has already opened huge doors for us. With your help, we hope to be in 5 restaurants by January of 2019 and by June, we hope to have served the equivalent of 20,000 meals. But, starting a new business isn’t free. We hold transparency as one of our most important values. While you may not receive a tracking code for your donation here, we do promise to update you as we continue to grow. Here are just a few ways that your donations will help us eventually help others: designing and publishing a website, generating materials to present to restaurants, legal expenses, and printing presentation materials. All funds will be deposited to Ashray Reddy, before being allocated to our business expenses.
Thank you…
We appreciate you reading our story and considering a donation. We believe in our company because of our unique business model that empowers businesses and consumers to help their local community. Many of us may be aware of the prevalence of food insecurity but are unsure of how to help. We hope to streamline this process and enable people to make an impact through simple, everyday purchases.
Small change. Big impact. That’s what we’re all about.
