We are the Mecklenburg chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, in Charlotte, NC. Our chapter will be 90 years old in 2018. You can visit our website here .
A large part of each of our organization's service to the community is the marking and honoring of Patriot grave sites from the Revolutionary War and preserving the history of the people and events of that Era.
"33 Patriots" is a uniquely American event for the remembrance, honor and tribute to Veterans from the Revolutionary War through the Afghanistan War.
The Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution are ancestors of documented Revolutionary War Patriots. We have a strong connection to history, tradition and American pride.
Our 242 year journey as the United States of America brings us to an unprecedented time to honor 33 Patriots in their final resting place at Centre Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, NC. This is the single largest grave marking of Revolutionary War Patriots at one time in the history of America.
The U.S. Flag, fifes and drums, musket volleys, pomp and circumstance and the scent of gun powder in the air...these are the memories and sacrifices of what we honor. These are the people we honor with 33 Patriots.
Sacrifices, love of country, honor and family. These are rallying cries that our early Patriots believed in to fuel their cause for independence from Britain. We are one people. One belief. One country moving forward together with U.S. Flags waving, drums and fifes sounding and celebration fireworks in the air.
We hear America from 242 years ago. We are America today.
