Med. expense help for our father Bill Fitzwater

Let me first start with anyone who knows my family knows I will be getting my back side chewed for this but I can't not do something to try and help, with that said.. As many know our parents Bill and Debbie Fitzwater retired in July 2019. They sold their family home and bought the retirement home they have been dreaming and working so hard for. As many people do when buying a new home, they began to make it their own. What many people do not know, with retirement came a lack of health coverage. Open enrollment began November 1st to start coverage January 1st 2020.. On November 1st. The unthinkable happened.. Our father had an accident. The backhoe he was operating went over the bank. We believe in the process it ejected him and ran him over but we are unclear of all the details because no one saw it happen. He was air lifted to the nearest trauma hospital. As of November 2nd 2019 after many scans and tests we now know he was able to escape brain damage but obtain many shattered and broken bones. He is currently in the ICU waiting to have surgery on November 3rd to repaired his shattered pelvic. When that part of the surgery is finished another surgeon will go in and repair his nose so he's able to breathe as well as add two metal plates to his jaw before his jaw is wired shut. At this point I cannot imagine the extent of medical bills that are about to start adding up. The ambulance ride to the flight, the flight, the extensive surgery , the ICU stay, and the recovery room alone will be astronomical and that's only the start. The hospital is more than an hour from their home and our mother will have to travel numerous times during his stay, not to mention there will be many trips that will follow during his recovery. Our goal is to try it offset some of these expenses for my family so we can put all of our focus into his recovery. We would like to thank all of our family and our friends for all of their love, prayers and support during this time. You truly do not know how loved your family is till something like this happens. I should add any funds that go beyond his medical expenses will be donated to their local response team and the trauma unit to help other family's.
