Medfield Barber-David & Family

Donation protected

Friends of David Ssewanyana and Medfield Barber Shop,

On May 29th, David’s wife, Betty, gave birth to a baby boy, two months premature. His name is Isaac Ty Nkata and he weighs 3lbs. He will have quite a long stay at a Tufts  Hospital in Boston.  They are estimating a month. Because of restrictions due to COVID-19, his wife will have to stay in the hospital with the baby. Also they are not allowed to have visitors and there are many restrictions on what can be brought into the hospital.  David will not be able to come and go.   Right now that means the other two children are staying at home.

David hopes to be back at the shop very soon. He was only able to open for two days after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted so finances are very tough for them right now. The family would appreciate any help in the form of a donation, gift cards, or just letters from the community to lift their spirits.

Thank you all. They (and I) feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful community. Please reach out to me for anything!

If you need a little backstory, David and his family are from Uganda. He moved to the US years ago and spent many years trying to get his family papers to come here as well. Two of his children were able to come about three years ago. His wife finally was able to join them about one year ago. He purchased Medfield Barber Shop And has been a staple in town ever since.
