Medical & After life care for Michael Kindred

Hello from the Kindred Clan (Mikey, Alan, Emily, Joey and Ben),

As many of you may know, our father, Michael Kindred, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2008.

This landed him permanently out of work and in and out of many hospitals and Dr offices. Soon after his diagnosis, we were forced to leave our home in North Carolina and relocate back to Buffalo, NY, to be with family for help and support and seek better medical help.

Our mother was then forced to work full time to make ends meet and take care of all five of us kids (including one with Aspergers&Epilepsy) and our father, whose health continued to decline.

About two years ago, Mike was diagnosed with Emphysema which quickly progressed and has recently turned into End Stage COPD and Congestive Heart Failure. Hospice has become involved, and we are now planning his funeral at the young age of 50.

He is currently wheelchair bound, on oxygen, and needs 24/7 assistance/care.

Due to this, our mother Jenny has had to take a leave from work to care for him full time. She has used all of her paid vacation time; paid family leave time, and now has to take unpaid leave to be able to care for him in his last weeks of life.

Between medical bills, trying to make the house wheelchair accessible, and now being out of work, money has been very tight for our mother and father. They are the strongest people we know and would never ask for help, so we are creating this go fund me to try to help our Mother out during this very difficult time.

The funds donated will first go towards any funeral expenses, and mounting bills as my moms job now is caring for my dad in the final days of his life.
