Medical & Support for Nikola Stakic & His Family
Donation protected
Nikola Stakic lives in Sabac, Serbia and just recently celebrated his 4th birthday. I have been in contact with Nikola's father, Darko Stakic through facebook and other charity groups in Serbia over the last year, assisting them with sourcing desperately needed paediatric tracheostomy tubes to him directly from Australia and around the world.
Nikola and his parents have just arrived in Turkey, and are seeking your urgent help to raise funds for Nikola's treatment and ongoing expenses. The family are hoping to raise EUR 50 000.
All I ask is if you can please share to all your social media accounts. Please help Nikola and the Stakic Family by showing your support , donating and sharing this worthwhile cause. Your help will be very much appreciated.
All funds will be forwarded directly to Nikola's parents via Darko Stakic (Nikola's Dad) and I will continue to update everyone on his status and provide evidence to show transactions. Below also included details if you'd like to directly donate to Darko's paypal account, Nikola's bank account including international transfer details etc.
Thank you

A message directly from Nikola's Dad (Darko Stakic) - Nikola's Story
After his birth, Nikola was transported to the Institute of Neonatology, where he was suspected of having a heart defect, and later, with the help of a karyotype, it was established that he had Down syndrome.
VSD surgery was performed at UDC Tiršova in the sixth month of life. After only a few days, it was established that a crack appeared at the place where VSD was operated on, and that greater pulmonary hypertension remained, which is why Nikola was often in respiratory infections. However, that didn't stop him much, so he progressed completely normally, grew, developed, talked reasonably in accordance with his age, sat, walked and was a hyperactive, cheerful child.
In March 2018, he was admitted to the cardiology department, where it was established that after the seventh pneumonia, which followed one another, he created pulmonary edema. It was then known that catheterization had to be done as soon as possible. The doctor's opinion was that he was safe, that he was better and that he should wait to recover. However, on April 10, Nikola experienced a cardiac arrest in his mother's arms and all organs stopped working.
The resuscitation lasted for about fifteen minutes, and the brain damage occurred as a consequence of the resuscitation, after which he began to receive frequent and strong epic attacks. He was in a coma for a month. When he woke up, his parents were told that his brain was damaged and that it would be like a plant. In addition to all the hardships that befell him, as well as the consequences of the lack of oxygen in the brain, Hydrocephalus was created and a VP shunt was installed, a tracheostomy through which he breathes and aspirates, as well as a gastrostomy - a spot through which he feeds.
Nikola has been on the brink of life and death three times so far. He persistently fights and strives for his life. He began to look, follow the gaze, react to the sound, express emotions by crying or laughing. When one of the medical staff approaches him, it can be seen that he is in fear and convulsions. He has recently started to relax and move his arms. But he still has a spasm in his legs and needs physical therapy.
Nikola's condition has improved a lot compared to what he was at the beginning, which gives the family hope that he will recover with adequate therapy. Stem cell therapy is needed.
