Cancer Treatment for Brad Sorensen
Donation protected
Brad, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend has for the second time in his life been diagnosed with cancer. 25 years after defeating Hodgkins Lymphoma, Brad is facing tumors in his lungs and esophagus, limiting his ability to breathe on his own and requiring oxygen. He has been too sick and weak to work for several weeks and has no short or long term disability insurance. He will be unable to work for some time during recovery and treatment and there are limited assistance programs available for those under 60 and not already disabled.
On February 29th, his breathing became more labored and his lungs pooled with blood. He called 911 and was transported by ambulance to EIRMC where he is currently in a medically induced coma. The coma allows him to use a ventilator to breathe for him, letting his lungs heal and rest. He has a feeding tube in place so that he may receive proper nutrition. There are still a lot of unknowns at this point, but what's clear is the recovery will be a long one.
Brad has been a friend to many and always helps wherever he can. He takes "bleeding heart" as a compliment and has never been shy to help those less fortunate. Unfortunately, he is not in a position to help himself and our family is trying to raise funds to assist with his bills and health insurance premiums.
He needs all the prayers, love, and support that you can give. If Brad has ever touched your life, lent an ear or hand, been a friend, or even bought you a drink, please consider a small donation. Every donation will directly support Brad and his recovery, so he and his family can focus on the arduous fight ahead.
Direct donations can also be made via cash or check (payable to ICCU or Dayne Sorensen) at any Idaho Central Credit Union using account number 793329.
