Medical and Memorial Expenses for Zoe Ellsworth
Donation protected
Zoe Rae Ellsworth, my granddaughter, was born January 28th, 2021 with multiple heart defects and spent her first 72 days in the CICU at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. In her first three months of life she had 9 surgeries, one of them being a 15-hour open heart surgery. Because of complications during this surgery little Zoe went into kidney failure, started having seizures & was on life support for over a week.
In April, after overcoming so many obstacles Zoe was able to come home for almost a month and met her older brother Gus for the first time. Sadly, she was again admitted to Primary Children's Hospital in heart failure. After a very long few weeks of exhausting every possible option for Zoe it has sadly come down to her not being a candidate for a heart transplant.
On May 17th Zoe was transferred to "End-of-Life Care" and on May 20th she came home to be able to spend her remaining time at home with her family. The medical expenses, daily travel expenses for Taylor and Spencer to be with Zoe while she was in the hospital (90 mile drive each way), the missed work and income and the future costs of burial and end of life costs are all combining to be a very heavy financial burden for the Ellsworth family.
We and the Ellsworth family appreciate all the service and support that has already been offered on behalf of little Zoe; there have been so many people who have already helped, while many others have asked what they can do to help. Through this gofundme we hope to be able to ease some of the financial stress for Taylor and Spencer while they continue to love and support their baby girl and make plans for her funeral and burial. We’d like them to be able to focus on their family at this time.
All donations will be carefully used for and on behalf of little Zoe, our Sunshine forever.
