Medical and travel expense for Craig Walker

Hello. My name is Lindsey Fogelsonger. I am Wendy Walker’s best friend.

As most of you know, Wendy’s dad, Craig Walker, had an accident on Dec. 7th while at work. He fell from the top of a large truck. This caused Craig to have a fractured skull and several brain bleeds.

He was rushed to UPMC Altoona Hospital. After several days, he was showing much improvement. Miraculously, he was sitting up and talking to his family. Even being ornery with the hospital staff.

He was then moved to a rehabilitation facility to begin his rehabilitation journey. However, on Dec. 14th, Craig had a seizure and was rushed back to the hospital where he had an emergency craniotomy. Another brain bleed was discovered. It was not seen in his original scans. The surgeon discovered that he had a stroke as well.

Craig has been in the ICU since his surgery. He is still on the ventilator, though he is breathing on his own. Wendy updated me today that they are hoping to take him off of the ventilator in the next couple of days.

He has been opening his eyes more and for longer periods of time with each passing day. He is also moving his right arm and leg. He is engaging with his wife, Rosie, as well. She will lay her head on his chest and he will pat her back and stroke her hair.

Rosie, Wendy and Ryan have been by his side every step of the way. His extended family and friends have been so supportive as well.

With that all being said, Craig has a very long road to recovery. I don’t believe the family knows for sure where he will go for rehabilitation, but I know Rosie will be right there with him and his kids, Wendy and Ryan, will make the trip as often as they can. If you are able to donate, it will definitely be very helpful and hopefully ease one of their many burdens during this difficult time. If you can’t donate, that’s ok too. But, please continue to lift Craig and his family up in prayer.
