As many of you know, my mom Sarah, has been battling cancer for over a while now. For those of you not in the know:

We lost our Sarah on March 12. She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer toward the end of 2019. The cancer was aggressive and attacked her liver. She went through so much: an emergency surgery for a perforated bowel, had part of her liver removed, chemo, radiation, a drug trial that proved futile... and through it all, she remained hopeful. Most of the time, she had a smile on her face. She was so strong.

She had a setback a couple weeks ago and declined rapidly. She took her last breath surrounded by so many of her loved ones around her.

There will be a memorial service for my beautiful mother. She told us that she wanted to send her body to WVU Medicine for medical use. When they are done, they will cremate her. However, if WVU Medicine declines, we will have her cremated ourselves.

We will forever miss that beautiful soul.
