Medical and Travel Expenses for Susan Audit

Hey friends and family- as most of you already know, my mother, Susan Audit, has been fighting recurrent cervical cancer for over six months. The Doctors here in USA were unable to help her fully and were only trying to buy her more time, giving her 17 Months. We were fortunate enough to find an alternative treatment for her in Mexico. Mom and I have already flown out to Mexico for her first round of treatment; we were there for two weeks. Of that two weeks, we were in the hospital getting treatment for 12 days.

The doctors there are amazing. Unlike the USA, they first did a Chemo sensitivity test that determined what chemo would actually work for her type of cancer. ( Her doctor in the USA, had no idea what a chemo sensitivity test was when I asked if they did them here).

Not only do they give her lower dose chemo, but they also do it in a way they don't do here. It's called IPT ( Insulin Potentiation therapy). They use insulin to lower her blood sugar, give her the chemo she needs, and then raise her blood sugar again. He said it was like opening a door, giving her what she needed, and then shutting it.

This first round worked terrific for her. She went from having no energy to walking to and from appointments every day with no problem. Almost a mile eachway! When we left Mexico, all her blood work numbers were great. The treatment is working!

We initially thought it would take three rounds of treatments. But with the size of her cervical Tumor, he said it could take up to eight treatments. We are so delighted to have found a treatment that gives hope of a longer life for Mom. The only problem is the expense. Her insurance in the USA will not cover her treatments in Mexico, and she can not receive them in the USA.

Each round (with flights, food, hotel and medical bills) can cost anywhere between $18,000- $20,000. We leave tomorrow for her second round of treatments. Again we will be in Mexico for two weeks. Unfortunately, they can not afford eight treatments. They are doing the best they can and just put their house for sale to help cover the cost. I am trying to help them at least be able to cover one round of treatments. My mother is only 62 years old and is a fighter! Please help her if you can.
