Medical Assistance for Covid Crisis in Grenada

We are a group of medical personnel - spearheaded by Dr. Lisa Radix , and several others-who want to offer assistance and provide immediate medical support to the Healthcare Team in Grenada during this unfolding Covid Crisis, to ensure that people of Grenada, and our colleagues on the front lines, taking care of Covid patients have the best access to available equipment, protection, medicines and devices to care for the ill.

The idea to form this initiative to help was born in our IFE ( Institute of Further Education) Alumni WhatsApp group chat - 133 past pupils, where we have often discussed many ideas about helping  our beloved Grenada. Their names will be posted on our Grenada Medical Assistance Facebook page - as well as the over 35 physicians in the diaspora helping with this initiative. We have been in touch with the Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique Nursing Association of NY who are also hoping to coordinate efforts.

We plan to assist with supplies purchased in the United States and sent to Grenada-( the list which will be posted on the page ) 

We are also in the process of forming a Multi- Specialty Telemedicine Consultation Service and have already begun the legwork  to assist our  colleagues on the ground in Grenada with Consultant Services to help mitigate the potential deadly consequences of Covid on the island.

Please join us in adopting an “ All hands on Deck !” approach to providing immediate help. We will be working with several interested physicians and medical personnel , with the assistance of our medical colleagues on the island , and with some guidance from SGUSOM to direct us on the path forward.

The peace and serenity of Grenada is being threatened by Covid and the number of cases that we are now seeing may be the tip of iceberg. We need to work expediently to ensure that Grenada has access to all that is necessary to optimize medical care for everyone on the island - Grenadians and visitors alike.
